  1. Abilitly to view games in progress

    Have the abilitly in YOG to look at games in progress, and view ones in progress to see strategies, or just watch.

      We live in the 21st century ! Make AI (m.b some other parts too) use multiple cores/threads. 8 Nicowar periodicaly slug out X2 3800+.

      • Warehouses

        Unlike the other "warehouses" idea, I think warehouses should do one thing and one thing only: store resources.

        You can set how much of each resource is supposed to be in each warehouse. If one warehouse has too few of a resource and another one nearby has too many, workers will start carrying resources from one to another. Workers may also directly gather the resource, if that is closer.

        You can assign priorities to each warehouse, indicating how important it is that the required resources are in stock.

        A warehouse can only store a certain maximum amount of resources but…

          By right-clicking, it would be nice to remove the red / blue / yellow zone.

            • task: hunting resource-animals by warriors and workers

              Similar to elephants/wolves in AOE. There would be natural creatures that, once killed, become a resource for food/wheat. The player could assign warriors to the swarm to make them attack wild creatures, and workers would automatically go butcher them.

              • Upgradeable swarms

                I wonder if globulation2 will ever have upgradeable swarms, is it possible? It just seems as though the swarms are left out as 'non-upgradeable buildings'. If there were three upgradeable stages of a swarm that would be awesome. It could be that the swarm holds more wheat and can make more sophisticated units when upgraded within less time. The units would also take more wheat to create

                  To get a Plane you need an Airport. An Airport should be a really big building because of the runway. In the Airport Warriors can train to fly an plane. Airplanes can start if a Warrior heads to the Airport an gets in a plane. A plane can be repaired in the airport by workers.

                    * A building that "stores" warriors. Warriors automatically leave the building and attack any enemy units that come within a certain range of ''sight'' (7 - 9 ish). The building can be set up to only release warriors to certain kinds of enemies. Warriors in a guardhouse consume less food, and are thus able to stay prepared at all times. For obvious reasons, guard houses should allow the players to set how many warriors are to respond to a particular guard house.

                      the ability to upload a picture in the map editor, which could be scaled to the size of the map(depending on the values). The Picture would be shown faintly in the background(and possibly the ability to adjust the brightness of the picture).

                      This would help to model maps on pictures, drawings, other maps from different games or real life geography

                        I think that's what they call them...Im from Argentina so Im not sure that is the proper term.

                        basically, you could build next to water an irrigation channel, and water would flow into it...but it shouldn't be too easy, only workers trained at the school should be able to build them, and they should cost at least 1stone+1wood each square

                          Currently, to change the AI or team colours, you need to cycle through each option, which for large maps takes a while. It would be nice to have a dropdown that you can click once to get the selections, then click again to choose that option.

                            Here are some ideas I could think of, some may be duplicates of other ideas here, I didn't check. This is mostly meant as a source of inspiration for the developers, not a wishlist.

                              you could make a worker that swims with out needing to learn how to . Also you could make it only be able to stay on land for a short time before it starts to lose health. it can only stay on land for a longer time if it is in a inn or a hospital

                                I have two OSes installed on my Power Mac, Mac OS X and Debian Lenny. I enjoyed playing glob2 (apt-getted it via apt-get install glob2 in Debian) and downloaded OS X version to play in that OS too. But the globulation's icon is crossed! Get Info says "Type: Application (Intel)". Why? If you can build macosx-intel version, why don't release it as Universal Binary?

                                  Direction movement would be an item(s) that would direct the globs in a given direction. I beleave that two items would be needed. one, for example, for the directions right and up, and a second for left and down.This would be useful if you had a narrow passage. Ex. a gap is two spaces wide, you can then designate one line for going out the other going in. Thus eliminating choking points in which units may get stuck.

                                    Right now, if you build 12 L3 schools, the game just suddenly ends without a warning. This feels not right. I'd suggest a system like wonders in Age Of Empires:

                                    Once you built your 12th L3 school, a timer starts (about 5 minutes). Then, all your L3 schools become visible to everyone. This will most likely trigger a massive invasion to kill those schools. If you manage to defend and keep at least 12 L3 schools until the timer expires, you win. If at any moment you have less than 12 L3 schools, the timer disappears, fog covers your schools…

                                      For late in the game, the player should be able to assign certain buildings to automatically upgrade to certain levels. This is to reduce building micromanagement, ESPECIALLY, on large maps.

                                          Constantly in gameplay (particularly in single player with allies) teammates tend to build in horrible places.

                                          Main problems:
                                          -they build in areas which block glob routes
                                          -they build in areas which block possible upgrading of structures

                                          Suggestion:
                                          I believe the best way to stop ally nonsense in this matter(single player) would be to add an option in which the player could set the distance in which the allies building could be built.
                                          -This value would be small, so as not to cause restriction
                                          -It would not include the upgradeable space of the building being built, or the current players building …
